Description
The Macerato Ruj is born from the vineyards owned by the San Silvestro family in Monferrato, characterized by a perfect south-facing exposure. This wine is produced with Cortese and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, using a maceration technique usually applied to red wines, giving it a distinctive character and a high density of flavors. The family's winemaking tradition is thus brought back to life with a unique skin-contact white.
The winemaking process involves a 25-day maceration, followed by 8 months of aging in French oak tonneaux. This long aging helps to develop aromatic complexity and an elegant structure, enhancing the varietal characteristics of both Cortese and Sauvignon Blanc. The result is a rich and harmonious wine that reflects the terroir and the mastery of the winery.
Visually, it presents an intense golden color. On the nose, hints of sweet orange peel and citrus notes emerge, while on the palate it is full, juicy, and velvety, with a pleasant elegance and long persistence. Its viscosity and expressive aromas make it a wine of great character.
Excellent paired with cold cuts, cured meats, and aged cheeses.
This wine pairs perfectly with aged cheeses and cured meats, as well as baked fish dishes and blue fish.
