Description
The Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne of the Marchesi Antinori was born in the vineyards of the homonymous estate, located south of Montalcino, above the Val d'Orcia.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, carefully selected in the vineyard in order to bring only the best bunches to full maturity. After destemming and soft pressing, the grapes are macerated in steel tanks for about 20 days at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels for 2 years before being bottled.
Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne has a deep and bright ruby color. The nose has a complex bouquet, in which floral aromas emerge accompanied by fresh notes of morello cherry, raspberry and citrus, enriched with pleasant nuances of chocolate, toasted tobacco and licorice; on the finish there are flavors of plum and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is harmonious and enveloping, with a full body and an intense taste. The finish is clean and long, with an aftertaste that reproduces the sensations perceived by the nose. Elegant wine, with a fine tannic texture and a strong mineral vein, it has excellent aging potential.
Perfect to accompany dishes with strong flavors, it is ideal in combination with game-based courses, grilled red meats and aged cheeses.
