Description
The Rouge Grand Cru Classé is produced by Château Latour-Martillac in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, where it is recognizable by the tower that dates back to the medieval fortified castle. Since the 19th century, the Château has been owned by the Kressmann family, who manage 50 hectares of vineyards.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes are vinified by parcel in steel vats, including malolactic fermentation. The aging takes place for 35% in new French oak barrels for a duration of 15-18 months.
Ruby red in color with purple hues, the nose opens on aromas of ripe cherries and spices, such as cinnamon and cloves. The taste is moderately structured, with fine and elegant tannins and a fresh and persistent finish.
Ideal in combination with roasted and stewed meats, including game, as well as with aged cheeses.
