Description
The Rouge Grand Cru Classé is produced by Château de Fieuzal in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The winery is named after one of its owners, who lived in 1900. Today the winery belongs to Lochlann Queen with 70 hectares of vineyards.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes are vinified by parcel and by vine. Cabernet Sauvignon are fermented in steel vats, Merlot and Cabernet Franc in oak barrels. The aging of 35-50% of the wine takes place in new French oak barrels for 16-24 months.
Ruby red in color with purple hues, the nose opens with a bouquet of red and black fruits, cherries, tobacco and lavender. The taste is elegant, with silky tannins and a persistent and earthy finish.
Ideal in combination with stewed and roasted red meats, as well as with aged cheeses.
