Description
Château Pichon-Longueville is one of the most important wineries in the Bordeaux wine region. Since 1940 the company has considerably increased the vineyard property, passing from 40 to 100 hectares. Since 2021 it has been certified biodynamic. The terroir of Chateau Pichon Lalande is gravelly, characterized by a clayey and calcareous soil. Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is produced from grapes belonging to the famous cru of Paillac.
The vinification takes place in 70 temperature-controlled steel containers of different sizes, which allow great control during both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is subsequently aged in French oak barrels, 50% new, for 18 months.
In the glass the wine is of an intense ruby red color. The olfactory profile is particularly striking for the mineral hints of graphite, charcoal, immediately accompanied by aromas of dehydrated blueberries, tobacco and mint. In the mouth the sip is extremely sculpted, structured and with a long persistence.
Ideal in combination with braised meats, pork cheek in red wine, stewed game
