Summary
Description
Château Pichon Baron, classified 2ème Cru Classé in 1855, is born from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from the oldest vineyards on the estate.
The harvest takes place separately for each vine, upon reaching the perfect level of ripeness. The refinement lasts for 18 months largely inside new oak barrels and for a small part in first passage barrels which give complexity and personality to the wine.
It has a garnet red color. The nose offers delicate notes of blackberry and spices. The entry into the mouth is round and generous, characterized by sublime power and well-integrated tannins.
In food-wine pairing, it gives its best in combination with red meats, including grilled ones, mushroom-based dishes and first courses.
