Description
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, located in the Pauillac appellation in the Bordeaux region of France, is renowned for producing high-quality, structured red wines. The vineyard of approximately 36 hectares is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), followed by Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), on a deep gravel soil on a limestone base, typical of the region.
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste wine is known for its fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by an 18-month aging in oak barrels, of which 50% are new. This process gives the wine a robust structure and complex flavors, with an average production of around 12,000 cases per year.
The bouquet is rich and intense, with dominant aromas of ripe red fruits, notes of violets and a subtle spicy touch, complemented by a fresh minerality. Upon tasting, the wine reveals remarkable precision and cleanliness, with ripe and well-integrated tannins leading to a long and persistent finish. The elegance, charm and freshness are well balanced, making this wine aromatically complex and of great purity.
It pairs beautifully with robust dishes such as roast meats or mature cheeses to enhance its complexity.
