Description
Château Lynch-Bages has a long history dating back to before 1700, while it was in the 1900s that thanks to Jean Michel Cazes the Château became one of the main brands in Bordeaux. For example, in 1985 the wine of the Château was the first wine to fly into space with a French astronaut, while in 1986 Jean Michel Cazes was the first owner of a Château to promote wine in China, which still remains one of the their main target markets. The average age of the vines of the Château is 30 years, but there are some that even reach 90 years.
In the cellar of Château Lynch-Bages each parcel of vineyard is vinified separately in one of the 80 steel containers of different sizes. Subsequently the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 75% of which are new.
In the glass the glass is of an intense ruby red color. The nose is striking aromas of red rose, small black fruits, Cassis and sweeter notes of dark chocolate and spices. In the mouth the sip is enveloping, generous, with expertly smooth tannins accompanied by a delicious freshness. Persistent finish.
Ideal in combination with roast lamb, roast pork and grilled red meats.
