Description
The Passito di Pantelleria Ben Rye of Donnafugata comes from the vineyards located in the heart of the island of Pantelleria.
It is produced exclusively with Zibibbo grapes, harvested and selected only by hand. To the fermenting must, which takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, the hand-squeezed raisins are subsequently added. During maceration, raisins release their extraordinary patrimony of sweetness, freshness and aromaticity. Refinement takes place in the same containers for 7 months and for a further 12 months in the bottle.
Ben Rye is characterized by a bright amber color. The bouquet opens wide and enveloping, enriched with hints of fresh apricots and candied oranges, on a balsamic background of aromatic herbs. In the mouth it is well balanced by a fresh acidic vein. Ben Rye has an ending with a long and satisfying persistence.
Perfect to accompany seasoned or blue cheeses, it is ideal in combination with desserts made with dried fruit and chocolate. Extraordinary alone, as a meditation wine.
