Description
Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia comes to life from the best terroirs of Bolgheri, a famous wine-growing area that has the merit of having generated great red wines. This wine bears the name of the renowned Ornellaia estate as maximum care and passion are dedicated to it.
It is a cuvée resulting from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes, with a strictly manual and late harvest, except for Merlot, which lasts until almost the end of October. The selection is made in the vineyard, with up to three harvest passages, but also in the cellar on a sorting table. After a soft pressing of the grapes, the vinification takes place separately, variety by variety, par by parcel. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks between 26 and 30 ° C, followed by maceration in contact with the skins for about 10-15 days. The wine then ages in barriques in the Ornellaia cellar, at controlled temperature, for 18 months, 12 months separately and then for a further 6 months following assembly. A further refinement of 12 months in the bottle precedes marketing.
Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia takes on an intense ruby red color in the glass. The nose perceives fresh and lively hints of raspberry and violet, accompanied by persuasive notes of black tea leaves and spices. The taste is incredibly satisfying fruity, supported by a velvety and highly refined tannic texture, absolutely free of sharp edges.
Excellent in combination with important red meat roasts, it is also suitable in the company of game and game.
