Description
Petrucci Melo red wine is produced by Podere Forte, located in the beautiful Val d'Orcia. The company is managed by Pasquale Forte, who in managing the vineyards and cellar is inspired by the principles of biodynamics and the thoughts of Rudolf Steiner.
It consists exclusively of Sangiovese grapes, which are vinified with spontaneous fermentation in French oak vats, with a maceration of 16-26 days. Both the malolactic fermentation and the 18-20 month aging take place in French oak barriques and tonneaux. This is followed by at least 12 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in color with garnet reflections, it opens on the nose with aromas of ripe violets, plums and cherries, enriched with spicy and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is dry, with excellent structure and long persistence.
Excellent to accompany stewed game.
