Oltrepò Pavese DOCG Pinot Nero 2020 Castello di Cigognola

The Pinot Noir of Castello di Cigognola was born in Oltrepò Pavese. The Castle, which overlooks the Scuropasso valley, has belonged to the Arnaboldi, Brichetto and Moratti families for generations and dates back to the mid-14th century. Since 1981 the farm has been managed exclusively by the Moratti family.

The grapes are harvested by hand in selected parcels. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in open tonneaux, with whole grapes and bunches. Subsequently the wine ages in cement and wood before being bottled.

Ruby red in color with violet hues, it reveals aromas of wild berries and spicy notes to the nose. The sip is dry and fresh, with a good persistence.

Excellent to accompany rich appetizers of cured meats, first courses with meat sauce and stewed meats.
