Description
The Nuits-Saint-Georges by Henri Gouges was born from the village of the same name located in the heart of the Côte d'Or, one of the most famous areas of Burgundy. Its vineyard, with plants of around 50 years of age, extends over approximately 14 hectares, a mosaic of terroirs, including Plateaux, Belles Croix, Fleurières, Brûlées and Chaliots, on deep soils characterized by a mix of clay, gravel and limestone.
Once the manual harvest of only the Pinot Noir grapes has been completed, the winemaking process begins and is carried out solely by gravity. Fermentation takes place with long maceration in contact with the skins. Followed by aging in oak barrels for 10-18 months, partly new.
The wine has an elegant ruby red color. The nose shows off a fruity bouquet with notes of cherry and raspberry, enriched by elegant notes of aromatic herbs with a touch of oak. On the palate it is dry and velvety, medium-bodied, with a perfect balance that invites you to the next sip.
It is the ideal companion for red meat and game dishes.
