Description
The Clos de l'Arlot Monopole from Domaine de l'Arlot is a red wine of great elegance produced in the renowned terroir of Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the 1er Cru appellation of Burgundy. This Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard, planted on an old quarry that gives it a particular amphitheater shape. The 2 hectares of the Clos de l'Arlot are characterized by two types of soil: white oolite and ostrea acuminata marl, which give complexity and structure to the wine.
The winemaking follows a traditional method to enhance the finesse and structure of the terroir. Maceration is minimal and pumping over and punching down are done sparingly to preserve the elegance of the wine. The aging lasts 15 months in oak barrels, followed by 3 months in steel tanks before bottling.
On the nose it opens with a complex bouquet of red fruits such as raspberry, currant, cherry and strawberry, accompanied by a floral note. On the palate it is delicate but concentrated, with soft tannins and a remarkable length that continues with flavors of red fruits and spices. Its subtle structure and persistence on the palate suggest good aging potential.
This red wine is ideal to pair with meat dishes with mushrooms, game or duck with sweet spices.
