Description
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets comes from the monopole of the same name kept by Henri Gouges, a plot of over 3 hectares located right under les Perrères, an ancient well of Nuits Saint Georges, characterized by a soil of gravel and limestone rich in clay from which long-lived wines capable of expressing an incredible gustatory finesse are derived.
The manual harvest of only Pinot Noir grapes precedes gravity vinification in order to intervene as little as possible on the grapes, must and wine. Once fermentation is complete, the wine ages in partially new oak barriques for 10-18 months.
It has a deep ruby red color. On the nose it offers a complex bouquet of cassis, raspberry and plum which mixes with notes that recall aging wood. On the palate it offers a medium structure, softness and freshness that lead towards an elegant and balanced finish.
It is ideal with red meats and game-based dishes.
