Description
The Nobile di Montepulciano of the Trerose estate was born in the south-eastern part of the oldest appellation in Italy, from a hilly landscape with a favourable exposure and nuances in the composition of the soil that can be found in every glass.
It is obtained mainly from Sangiovese grapes of the Prugnolo Gentile biotype, supported by small additions of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The fermentation is carried out in steel containers with 18 days maceration at a temperature of 30 °C. Ageing takes place in Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months and for at least 4 months in the bottle.
It has an intense ruby red color, with garnet shades. The nose reveals clear and refined hints of marasca cherry, blueberry, blackberry and licorice. The mouth re-proposes the olfactory theme, with an elegant tannin that is a prelude to a delicately mineral finish centred on tones of graphite and tobacco.
It can be appreciated in the company of roasted or grilled meats, it is ideal in combination with medium-aged cheeses.
