Description

The Grandi Annate di Avignonesi is a Noble Wine of Montepulciano which originates, as the name suggests, only in the most deserving vintages. It comes from an assembly of 4 vineyards, located near Valiano di Montepulciano, in the province of Siena.

100% Sangiovese grapes, grown on a type of soil called locally mattaione, that is composed of silty and limestone sediments of marine origin, poor in organic matter and without skeleton. The vineyards are located in an altitude range between 280 and 310 m above sea level. The harvest, carried out in the first half of October, allows the 4 vineyards to be harvested and vinified separately. The alcoholic fermentation spontaneously triggered by indigenous yeasts is followed by an aging of 18 months in wooden barrels.

At sight it is presented in a lively ruby red hue. The nose opens to fruity hints reminiscent of cherry and berries, which are echoed by notes of rosemary and nutmeg. The taste shows an important structure and a velvety tannin, streamlined by a fresh vein of great pleasure. Very persistent in its fruity imprint

Perfect to accompany a salmì hare.
