Description
Luigi Coppo's Nizza Pomorosso, the result of the selection of Barbera grapes, represents the essence of the territory of the municipalities of Agliano Terme, Castelnuovo Calcea, Nizza Monferrato and Vinchio. Benefiting from a south-southeast exposure and a clayey-limestone marl soil with the presence of gypsum, ferrous conglomerates and a modest quantity of calcium carbonate, this wine best expresses the potential of the vine in terms of aromatic concentration and complexity structural.
The harvest, conducted manually in September, focuses on selecting the healthiest and ripest grapes, followed by soft pressing and maceration in contact with the skins with brief pumping over. This process precedes the 14-month refinement in barriques, a period during which the wine acquires balance, harmony and a distinctive aromatic imprint.
Visually it presents an intense ruby red color. The olfactory profile is dominated by notes of red fruit, enriched by a pleasant note of cocoa bean and delicate balsamic sensations of eucalyptus. In the mouth, the wine is characterized by a pulpy richness, with a long persistence and a finish that is in perfect harmony with the olfactory notes.
Perfect in combination with intense and tasty dishes such as lamb chop, Bettelmatt from Val d'Ossola and pumpkin tortello. It confirms itself as a wine capable of elevating rich dishes with bold flavors.
