Description
Nizza Barbera Gavelli di Garesio was born in Monferrato, in the province of Asti. In 2010 the Garesio family bought 20 hectares which they dedicated to viticulture, divided between Serralunga d'Alba, Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato and Perletto in Alta Langa. This Barbera was born in the territory of the Nizza denomination within the additional geographical indication Gavelli.
The wine is made up exclusively of Barbera grapes, vinified with maceration on the skins at a low temperature for approx. 25 days, with pumping over and délestage. The wine then ages in Austrian oak barrels, French oak barriques or tonneaux for 12-18 months.
Ruby red in color with violet reflections, the nose reveals a bouquet of fruity aromas with blueberries, pomegranate and juniper with notes of licorice. The sip is fresh and discreetly structured, with a satisfying finish.
The wine goes very well with cured meats, stewed red meats and aged cheeses.
