Description

Fumè Blanc by Robert Mondavi Winery was born in the vineyards of the American estate, located in the beautiful Napa Valley, California.

This wine is made exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc grapes and with Sémillon grapes, harvested and selected manually. To preserve the freshness and liveliness, a very soft pressing is carried out, minimizing contact with the skins. After a fermentation in stainless steel, which greatly amplifies the fruity and herbaceous notes of Sauvignon, the wine ages for about 5 months in oak barrels. The Sémillon is assembled at the end, to give the wine greater complexity and a decisive and expressive entry into the mouth. The bottling and subsequent aging in glass follows.

Fumè Blanc has a very pale straw yellow color. The nose releases a very interesting mix of aromas, with fruity and citrus notes (tangerine, lemon zest, melon, grapes) which are combined with delicate floral hints of jasmine and orange blossom, ending with a typical Sauvignon herbaceous texture. In the mouth it proposes many of the sensations given to the nose, supported by a great structure and a unique freshness that makes this wine original and elegant. The finish is persistent, with spicy hints that emerge in the aftertaste.

Perfect in combination with fish and shellfish dishes, it is excellent with sushi and fish cruditès.
