Description

This Chardonnay is born in the splendid Robert Mondavi estate located in Napa Valley, California, which has now become one of the most important realities of the world wine market.

It is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, harvested by hand and carefully selected. After a light pressing, which does not disperse the fruity aromas of this vine, two thirds of the juice is left to ferment in French oak barrels, while the rest ferments in steel. The wine then spends a long period on the lees, undergoing frequent bâtonnage, and matures for about nine months in barrels. A long ageing in bottle follows.

It has a golden yellow colour. The nose brings intense aromas of ripe pear, fresh peach and quince, with warm sensations of hazelnut and toasted almond in the background. In the mouth, it shows an excellent balance of flavours, with fruity and oak accompanying the tasting towards a persistent and clean finish.

It is a very complex wine, excellent for moments of meditation. Also perfect in combination with savoury dishes based on fish and shellfish, it goes very well with not too elaborate first courses.
