Description
The Felsenberg "Felsentürmchen" Riesling Grosses Gewächs by Dönnhoff is born in the vineyards located in the heart of the Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg, an area renowned for its unique terroir with porphyry soils and volcanic red applefire. The vines, aged between 25 and 50 years, benefit from rigorous manual selection, with a yield of approximately 40 hl/ha. This particular terroir gives the wine a crystalline and smoky minerality, typical of Felsenberg.
The winemaking takes place in stainless steel and large traditional oak barrels. After a slow and natural fermentation, the wine matures for at least six months on full yeasts, followed by a further two months on fine yeasts. This process helps develop the complexity and longevity of the wine, while maintaining its freshness and purity.
The Felsenberg "Felsentürmchen" Riesling stands out for its complexity and aromatic depth. On the nose, it presents notes of flint, citrus and white flowers, while on the palate it offers a rich and full-bodied structure, balanced by a fine and ripe acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with an elegance that is the signature of the wines of this exceptional wine-growing area.
This Riesling is perfect for accompanying fish, shellfish and white meat dishes, offering versatility that makes it ideal for different gastronomic occasions.
