Description
Joseph Drouhin’s Morgon is a red wine produced in the heart of the Beaujolais region, specifically in Villié-Morgon, located between Régnié and Chiroubles. Made exclusively from Gamay grapes, this wine best expresses the characteristics of its unique terroir, composed of fragmented schist soils. This soil composition gives Morgon a particular typicity and longevity, making it one of the most structured wines of the region.
The vinification follows the traditional semi-carbonic methodology of Beaujolais, using whole bunches of grapes. The grapes and musts come from partner producers, according to a strict quality protocol. The maceration lasts from 4 to 10 days, depending on the specific characteristics of the vintage, and takes place in tanks. The refinement continues for a period of 10-12 months always in tanks, thus maintaining the balance and structure of the wine.
It stands out for its structure and character, it has an intense garnet color and a powerful bouquet, dominated by notes of cherries and small berries. In the mouth it is fleshy and well structured, offering a long persistence and aromatic richness.
This red wine is perfect to pair with red meat dishes, roasts or mature cheeses.
