Description

The Morellino di Scansano Riserva by Fattoria Le Pupille is a wine resulting from the blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon which expresses the essence of the Tuscan Maremma, born between the vineyards of La Carla in Magliano in Toscana and those of Maiano and Bozzino in Istia d 'Ombrone. The territory, characterized by soils of sandstone origin interspersed with marl rocks and layers of red clay, gives the wine an extraordinary richness and complexity.

The harvest takes place in the second half of September and in October for Cabernet. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with a maceration that lasts from 25 to 30 days, to enhance the aromas and varietal characteristics of the grapes. Subsequently, the wine ages for 5 months in barrels.

In the glass it presents a deep and bright ruby color, a prelude to an intense and complex olfactory bouquet, where notes of blackberry and blueberry jam, blackcurrant, very persistent citrus hints emerge, enriched by nuances of tobacco and black pepper. In the mouth, the wine reveals a well-balanced freshness and flavor, supported by a dynamic structure and a tannic finish.

Ideal in combination with rich and tasty dishes, it goes perfectly with pork belly with blackcurrant sauce or tagliolini with lamb ragout, enhancing the flavors of traditional Tuscan cuisine.
