Description
The Vigna Vetum Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva from Cantina Terzini is produced from 100% Montepulciano grapes, grown on clay soils at 350 metres above sea level in the Tocco da Casauria area of Abruzzo.
The grapes are harvested manually and carefully selected. This is followed by a process of prolonged maceration and fermentation in steel. The refinement lasts 12 months in steel and 12 months in barrique, with a final rest of 4 months in the bottle.
On the nose, this red wine offers notes of ripe red fruit, licorice and vanilla. On the palate, it is robust, tannic and balanced, with a persistent finish.
It pairs perfectly with lamb, red meats and mature cheeses, but is also excellent with dark chocolate.
