Nose of pleasant richness, notes of raspberry jam, with touches of pepper and cinnamon leaves. Tense and dense mouth, with a nice juiciness and tension. Return, on the finish, of the notes of sweet spices and small red fruits.

Description

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Collection of the Count of Filicaja was born in Tocco da Casauria from 100% Montepulciano vineyards, from a clayey soil that gives the wine a splendid minerality.

It is harvested in the first days of October, through a careful and accurate manual selection of the bunches. It ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature, after which it is left to refine for 3 months in wooden barrels.

Deep ruby red in color with light purple reflections, it leaves a pleasant velvet sensation on the palate. The nose is intense and complex with hints of ripe red fruit that turns towards the flavor of jam. Pleasantly spicy, with notes of licorice, vanilla and toasting; robust, quite tannic, balanced, persistent and harmonious.

Thanks to its complex structure and splendid organoleptic profile, it goes well with meat dishes such as lamb, red meats and arrosticini, as well as aged cheeses and dark chocolate. Excellent as an accompaniment to a good cigar.
