Description
The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo of the Terzini company is made with 100% Montepulciano grapes in the Tocco da Casauria area.
On predominantly clayey soils and with an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level, the grapes grow helped by favorable climatic conditions. The manual harvest is carried out in the first days of October with a careful selection of the grapes to be vinified. Softly pressed, the grapes macerate for 20 days and ferment at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. With the first 12 months of aging in steel, the 12 wine is transferred to barrique for another 12 months before resting a further 4 months in the bottle.
Deep ruby red in color with light purple reflections, it has hints of great intensity and consistency, with red fruits in jam, black cherry and cherry, spicy notes of licorice and toasted coffee. On the palate it is full-bodied and enveloping, robust, with a vibrant tannin and great structure, capable of presaging an intense and persistent finish.
Ideal with lamb and sheep skewers, it also goes well with aged cheeses and dark chocolate.
