Description

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo by Emidio Pepe comes from the biological and biodynamic vineyards located on the Abruzzo hills, in the Teramo municipality of Torano Nuovo.

It is obtained exclusively from Montepulciano grapes, which are harvested entirely by hand. After the destemming, which takes place manually in wooden vats, the must ferments spontaneously in vitrified cement tanks. It follows refinement on the fine lees for 2 years and in the bottle for a few months before the subsequent marketing of the product.

This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is characterized by an impenetrable ruby red color. It offers the nose intriguing sensations of spices and leather, immediately followed by fruity notes of wild cherry and blueberry. On the palate it is rustic and well structured, dry and velvety. Closes with an elegant full and spicy finish.

It goes perfectly with important roasts based on red meat and with tasty cheeses.
