Description
Falesco's Sagrantino di Montefalco Rc2 was born in vineyards located on the hills of Gualdo Cattaneo, in the province of Perugia. The original monogram RC2 derives from the initials of the name and surname of Riccardo Cotarella and of his nephew Riccardo Chiasso, born in 2006, the first vintage of wine production.
It is produced with pure Sagrantino grapes, harvested at the beginning of October. After a cold premaceration, the grapes ferment in steel for 14 days at controlled temperature with rare and soft pumping over; fermentation is carried out without contact with the skins, to enhance only the noble tannins. The wine then ages in large barrels for 24 months before being bottled.
Sagrantino Rc2 is characterized by a beautiful intense ruby red color with bright reflections. The nose opens with notes of red fruits, ranging from blackberries to ripe plums. Thanks to the aging in wood, this wine presents balance and great elegance. The taste is decisive, intense and rich, with present but soft tannins. The finish is long and persistent.
Perfect to accompany roasts and game, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses. Excellent with typical Umbrian dishes.
