Description
The Montefalco Sagrantino Carapace of Tenute Lunelli was born in vineyards located on the Castelbuono estate, in the heart of Umbria. The cellar was built by the famous contemporary art artist Arnaldo Pomodoro. The artist called the Carapace winery and is considered to be an exceptional and unique sculptural element.
It is produced exclusively with Sagrantino grapes, harvested only by hand during the month of October. After a cold premaceration at a temperature of 12 ° C for 30 hours, the grapes ferment in barriques at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C for about 15-20 days. Subsequently the wine ages in oak barrels for 24 months and for a further 12 months in bottle.
It is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose opens with aromas of cherries, enriched with pleasant hints of carob and rose petals. On the palate it is creamy, persuasive and elegant. The wine has fine and gentle tannins, with a long and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany roasts and game, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
