Description
Montefalco Sagrantino is produced by Cantine Briziarelli, a company that produces a wide range of wines in Umbria, in the Montefalco area.
The wine is produced exclusively from Sagrantino grapes, a native rorro vine of Umbria. Once in the cellar, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for about 25 days. Aging takes place in first passage barriques for at least 12 months and in steel for a further 21 months. Complete the refinement in the bottle for at least 6 months
Intense ruby red in colour, the wine presents itself to the nose with aromas of ripe red fruit and a fine spiciness. The sip is powerful, with decisive and enveloping tannins and an excellent structure.
Montefalco Sagrantino goes well with savory legume soups, cotechino with lentils, red meats and stewed game and aged goat cheeses.
