Description
The Montefalco Rosso Ziggurat of Tenute Lunelli was born in vineyards located on the Castelbuono estate, in the heart of Umbria. The cellar was built by the famous contemporary art artist Arnaldo Pomodoro. The artist called the Carapace winery and is considered to be an exceptional and unique sculptural element.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese and Cabernet and Merlot grapes, harvested only by hand between September and October. After a cold premaceration at a temperature of 12 ° C for 20 hours, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C for about 15-20 days. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for 12 months and for a further 6 months in bottle.
Ziggurat is characterized by an intense red color. The nose opens with hints of cherry and morello cherry, enriched with pleasant spicy notes of cloves. On the palate it is pleasantly fresh and elegant, with a balanced and enveloping body.
Perfect to accompany roasts and grilled red meats, it is ideal in combination with cold cuts, cold cuts and aged cheeses.
