Description
The Montefalco Rosso Riserva Lampante of the Tenute Lunelli was born in the Le Fonti vineyard located on the Castelbuono estate, in the heart of Umbria. The cellar was built by the famous contemporary art artist Arnaldo Pomodoro. The artist called the Carapace winery and is considered to be an exceptional and unique sculptural element.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Sagrantino, Cabernet and Merlot grapes, harvested only by hand between September and October. After a cold premaceration at a temperature of 12 ° C for 20 hours, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C for about 15-20 days. Subsequently the wine ages in barrique for 18 months and for further 12 months in bottle.
It is characterized by an intense red color. The nose opens with aromas of violet, enriched with elegant hints of cherries and pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is soft, with structured and mature tannins. The wine has a wide and balanced finish.
Perfect to accompany grilled red meats, it is ideal in combination with first courses with meat sauce.
