Description
The Montefalco Rosso of Fattoria Colsanto was born in the vineyards of the company located in Monterone, in the heart of Umbria.
This wine is produced with Sangiovese and Sagrantino grapes, harvested by hand in October. 70% of the must is left to ferment in wooden barrels and the remaining 30% in steel. It is then left to mature for 15 months in wooden barrels (70%) and in steel tanks (30%), where the final product stabilizes its organoleptic characteristics. A further ageing in bottle follows, after assembly.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red colour and by typical aromas of ripe red and purple fruit, to which are added spicy notes, conferred by the evolution in wood. In the mouth it offers an imposing structure, with well-present but refined tannins.
Excellent with grilled red meats and long-aged cheeses
