Description
Montefalco Rosso from the Mevante farm is an elegant red wine produced with Sangiovese, Merlot and Sagrantino grapes, coming from vineyards located in the municipality of Bevagna, with south-east exposure. These vineyards, about 20 years old, grow on clay soil alternating with marly-arenaceous formations, fluvio-lacustrine deposits and silt.
The harvest is carried out manually starting from mid-September for Merlot and from the beginning of October for Sagrantino and Sangiovese. The winemaking process involves maceration on the skins followed by refinement in steel and in the bottle for approximately 8 months.
This wine has an intense ruby red color with evident violet reflections. On the nose it offers an open aroma reminiscent of jam, with notes of blackberry and blackcurrant. On the palate, Montefalco Rosso reveals itself to be broad and harmonious, showing a well-defined structure.
Perfect to pair with grilled or roasted red meat dishes and mature cheeses.
