Description
Rosso di Montefalco is produced by Cantine Briziarelli, a company that produces a wide range of wines in Umbria, in the Montefalco area.
The wine is produced from Sangiovese and Sagrantino grapes. Once in the cellar, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for about 22 days. The refinement takes place in acacia barriques for at least 20 months and a further 4 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in colour, the wine presents itself to the nose with aromas of rose hips, violets, spices and notes of vanilla and star anise. The sip has a moderate acidity, fine tannins and a good persistence.
The wine goes well with baked pasta and grilled red meat.
