Description
Viandante is the Sangiovese signed by Tenuta l'Impostino. It represents the soul of the Maremma land, in the province of Grosseto, strong of the engaging and frank character of the Tuscan grape par excellence.
Sangiovese in purity, coming from the Alto Poggio vineyard, planted 16 years ago on a hilly medium-textured soil, with a mainly clayey profile and an excellent skeleton. The harvest is done manually, allowing to carry out a first sorting which will then be replicated in the cellar. Alcoholic fermentation takes place, as does contemporary maceration, in steel tanks, while malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously in large oak barrels and second passage barriques. Refine for 24 months in 42 hl barrels and in second passage French oak barrels. It ends its journey by maturing in the bottle for 6 months, minimum.
It has an intense ruby red color. Its bouquet is varied and articulated in notes of raspberry, black currant and blackberry, inserted in a spicy and balsamic background. The taste is well balanced, finished with a silky tannin and a structured body. It closes in an echo of aromatic complexity.
