Description
The Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone di Collemassari was born in the organically run Castello ColleMassari estate, located on the slopes of Monte Amiata, in the province of Grosseto.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in small truncated cone-shaped wooden dining rooms with long macerations. After the malolactic fermentation carried out in oak barrels, the wine remains in the same containers for 18 months, followed by a further 12-month refinement period in the bottle, before being placed on the market.
Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone di Collemassari has an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with intense aromas of morello cherry and plum which give way to clear sensations of sweet spices, among which licorice predominates. On the palate it is full and round, with a perfect balance between tannic component and freshness and a very persistent mineral finish.
Perfect to accompany stewed and braised red meats, this wine is ideal in combination with game, game and mature cheeses.
