Description
Rouchet is a red wine from the Monferrato of the Scarpa winery, located on the hills of Nizza Monferrato (AT). The company philosophy is defined through 3 coordinates: sustainable agriculture, traditional winemaking and long aging in the bottle.
This red Monferrato is made exclusively from Ruché grapes, one of the classic red vines of Piedmont together with Nebbiolo, Barbera and Grignolino. The wine is born on the vineyards of Poderi Bricchi, located between Castel Rocchero and Acqui Terme. The vineyards are located at an altitude that varies between 350 and 400 m asl and sink their roots on a soil composed mainly of clay mixed with a low percentage of sand. After the traditional vinification, the Ruché remains 12 months in steel tanks and then 12 months in the bottle, before being put on the market.
In the glass the wine appears bright ruby red. On the nose the wine is expressed with aromas of red and purple flowers and with delicate spicy notes. The sip is enveloping and consistent with the olfactory profile, with a prevalence of the distinctive spicy notes of the grape.
Ideal in combination with red meat dishes and stewed game and aged and blue cheeses.
