Description
The Meursault-Santenots Premier Cru of the domaine Jacques Prieur, composed entirely of Chardonnay grapes, finds its roots in the inimitable terroir of Meursault, on a calcareous and friable soil based on light marl and silt which gives a distinctive minerality.
Meticulous winemaking begins with manual harvesting into small boxes, followed by gentle pressing in a pneumatic press. Alcoholic fermentation takes place for 36 hours at a controlled temperature, followed by aging solely in barrels for 19 months.
Tasting reveals a bright gold-green color, with silvery reflections. On the nose, purity merges with precision, offering lightly toasted spicy notes that evolve into flint nuances. In the mouth it shows a pronounced freshness combined with a balanced flavor.
It goes perfectly with refined seafood dishes, such as shellfish and oysters. Try it with a grilled sea bass fillet.
