Description
The Meursault 1er Cru "Les Genevrières" is a white wine produced in the southern area of the village of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune. The vines, with an average age of 60 years, are planted on a homogeneous and shallow clay-limestone soil, dating back to the Bathonian. The "Les Genevrières" parcel is located near "Les Perrières", renowned for the exceptional quality of its grapes.
The vinification of this Meursault begins with a manual harvest and careful sorting in the vineyard, followed by pneumatic pressing for slow extraction. After a light decantation, the must is placed in 228 liter French oak barrels (15% new), where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and bacteria. The refinement on the fine lees lasts 18 months, without batonnage, with a final decanting into stainless steel tanks before bottling, which follows the lunar calendar.
On the nose, the Meursault "Les Genevrières" is concentrated and elegant, with notes of almonds, freshly baked bread, fine spices and toasted dried fruit. On the palate, it is broad and generous, revealing vanilla aromas that blend with citrus notes, offering extraordinary complexity and balance.
This wine pairs perfectly with noble poultry in sauce, truffle risotto and cheeses.
