Description
Mersault is a French commune located south of Volnay and Pommard, in the Burgundy of the Côte d'Or. Here, wines of excellence and of great prestige have been vinified for a long time and Louis Latour's Mersault is nothing more than an example of how the fame of these areas is more than deserved.
It consists of 100% Chardonnay grapes, coming from 25-year-old vineyards planted on marly and limestone soils. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in oak barrels, as well as aging that lasts from 8 to 10 months.
It is presented in a straw yellow color with golden reflections. The nose recalls exotic fruit and sweet spices, which, on the palate, are also characterized by a softer trace of honey. Round and very fresh, it is appreciated for its structure and for the great pleasure of drinking.
Perfect to accompany a smoked salmon in avocado sauce.
