Description
Riccitelli's República del Malbec is a red wine produced in the region of Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo and Mendoza, Argentina, from non-grafted vineyards planted in 1927. This Malbec represents the essence of the Argentine terroir, with vineyards grown without the use of herbicides or systemic products, located at 1,100 meters above sea level and on alluvial soils with a composition of sand, clay and gravel.
The grapes are hand-picked in small crates to preserve the integrity of the bunches. After a meticulous selection, they are destemmed and transferred naturally by gravity into small cement tanks, where fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures between 26°C and 28°C. The wine is then aged for 16 months, half in used French oak barriques and the other half in large oak barrels.
On the nose it stands out for an intense bouquet of black fruit, licorice and spices. On the palate it presents a remarkable balance, accompanied by elegant, soft and silky tannins, which make the wine pleasantly harmonious and persistent.
It pairs perfectly with grilled or roasted red meats.
