Description
Catena Zapata’s Malbec Catena Alta comes from historic vineyards in the Mendoza region of Argentina, located at high altitudes that favor the quality of the grapes. The wine is produced with selected grapes from the Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia and Adrianna vineyards, renowned for their rich soil and favorable climate. The winemaking is done using sustainable methods that enhance the unique terroir of Mendoza.
The winemaking process involves aging in French oak barrels for 18 months, which gives the wine a complex and well-balanced structure. This Malbec is known for its intense aromas of dark berries, such as blackberry and plum, enriched with floral notes of violet and nuances of sweet spices, chocolate and coffee.
On the palate, Catena Alta Malbec is full-bodied and rich, with a velvety texture and well-integrated tannins that provide structure and balance. It has a long and persistent finish, with a touch of acidity that adds complexity and liveliness. It is an ideal wine for cellar aging.
This Malbec pairs perfectly with grilled meat dishes, roast lamb, savory stews and mature cheeses. Its complexity also makes it suitable to be enjoyed alone, as an expression of excellence of Argentine viticulture.
