Description

The Silver Hammer from the Maxwell winery is a pure Shiraz produced in McLaren Vale.

After harvesting, the Shiraz grapes are de-stemmed and fermented in contact with the skins to extract color and a first tannic part. After fermentation follows an aging of 12-15 months in old oak barrels, some of which are new in French and American oak.

Intense ruby red in color, it immediately presents aromas of ripe plum, black pepper, cinnamon and tobacco. Full on the palate, it expresses well the abundance of the fruit while maintaining a balanced acidity and a clean sip. Velvety tannins accompany a long and harmonious finish.

Wine suitable for barbecue meats and savory first courses based on meat sauce. Also excellent with date and speck rolls.
