Description
The Matsui Mizunara Cask is a single malt whiskey produced by the Matsui Shuzo Distillery and takes its name from the wood of the barrels in which it is aged, the Mizunara (Japanese oak). The historic distillery is located in Tottori Prefecture, north-west of Kyoto and north-east of Hiroshima, on the coast of the Sea of Japan. More than 14% of the prefecture is a natural park, full of lush vegetation, rugged coastlines, rivers and lakes.
The whiskey is aged in Japanese oak barrels.
In the glass it appears amber in color. Combined with the bitter taste of unmixed whiskey, a slightly sweet, aged aroma tickles the nose with a soft, yet rich and persistent aftertaste.
