Description
The Marsala Vergine Terre Ass of Cantine Florio is born in vineyards located in the districts of Birgi and Spagnola, in the Trapani municipality of Marsala.
It is obtained exclusively from Grillo grapes, harvested manually, at advanced ripeness, in the last week of September. After pressing the grapes and fermenting at controlled temperature, the tanning is prepared, adding only the wine distillate to the must, according to the tradition of Marsala Vergine. Subsequently the wine ages for at least 8 years in ancient oak barrels and in the bottle for at least 6 months, before being put on the market.
It has an ancient gold color, with golden reflections. The nose opens with an intense aroma of bitter almonds and burnt honey. On the palate it is dry and harmonious, with spicy notes of vanilla and licorice root.
Excellent as an aperitif, this Marsala is recommended for pairing with smoked fish, fish couscous, bottarga and hard cheeses such as Parmesan. Also ideal as a meditation wine.
