Description

The Maremma Toscana Rocca di Frassinello was born in vineyards located. This wine represents the "grand vin" of the Rocca di Frassinello estate, according to a comparison with the Bordeaux classification. It was created by the oenologists Alessandro Cellai and Christian Le Sommer, known for being also the oenologist of Les Domaines Baron de Rothschild-Lafite.

It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes, locally called still Sangioveto, and with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, carefully picked and selected by hand in the first half of September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 14 months in largely new barriques, followed by 11 months of aging in bottle, before being released onto the market.

The Maremma Toscana Rocca di Frassinello has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with pleasantly fruity hints of cherry and blackberry, enriched with notes of cocoa, tobacco and mint. On the palate deep and elegant, with soft tannins and a good balance.

Perfect to accompany red meats, roasts and game, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
