Description
The Maremma Toscana Avvoltore is born in vineyards located in a splendid landscape, between the hills and the sea.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes. The grapes are harvested between the second half of September and the first half of October, fermented in concrete tanks with temperature control and two pumping over per day for the first 10 days. The wine remains in contact with the skins for another 15 days, before being drawn off and put in barriques for malolactic fermentation. Aged in wood for about 12 months, during which it undergoes a racking, it remains in the bottle for another 6 months.
It is a wine with a ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose has a complex bouquet, with hints of ripe fruit and pleasant hints of vanilla. On the palate it reveals its great body and its softness, accompanied by a clear velvety sensation.
Important and structured wine, it goes well with large roasts.
