Description
This wine comes from the rocky and calcareous soils of Magliano di Grosseto, in the southwestern part of the Tuscan Maremma, from a wine area that has become famous for the blends that gave life to the great Supertuscan wines obtained from Bordeaux varieties.
It is made up of Sangiovese, the Spanish Alicante grape and the French Syrah. The idea is to create a Super-Med wine, mixing together the noble varieties that are grown in the Mediterranean area. The grapes undergo the crushing and destemming and are vinified in open 500-liter tonneaux, placed vertically. After the spontaneous start of fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the temperature rises to a maximum of 29-30 ° C. The maceration on the skins is managed with daily fulling operations and lasts about 30 days. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, to then refine for at least 18 months in the same French oak tonneaux in which it fermented.
Intense ruby red with purple reflections, the nose is an explosion of spicy aromas, licorice and black fruits. It gives structure, depth and complexity to the palate.
Ideal companion of game and steaks, it goes well with roasts.
